 Asia and pacific ocean, twenty to Europe, nineteen to Latin America and Caribbean, eighteen to Africa, seven to Arab countries and nine of them are multinational. This declaration has been celebrated in Istanbul during the convention of the international intergovernmental committee for safeguarding intangible cultural heritage which is the executive authority concerned for the implementation of UNESCO convention on safeguarding the intangible cultural heritage that was agreed upon by 104 states. Mr.Kouchiro Matsura The director General, said: "I'm so happy that the intergovernmental committee for safeguarding the intangible cultural heritage convention decided to put 90 masterpieces on the tentative list." "This committee revives UNESCO's convention on safeguarding the intangible cultural heritage which was signed in 2003 and entered into force on 2006" he said. He added that he has been sure that this list dedicated to the visibility of vivid heritage would contribute to the understanding of its value and would give pride and sense of belonging to countries of origin. |
