within the framework of UNESCO Program of Education for All and the recommendations of the consultative meeting held in Sharja in July 2011, the UNESCO Regional Office in Beirut will held the Regional Forum for Education for All from 15 to 17 October 2012 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.
The forum aims to encouraging countries to plan, implement and evaluate Education for All 2012 and contribute in setting the provisional agenda for the period after 2015.
Church of the Nativity and the Pilgrimage Route in Bethlehem, Palestine, inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage List along with sites from Israel, Palau, Indonesia and Morocco
New sites have been inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List: Birthplace of Jesus: the Church of the Nativity and the Pilgrimage Route, Bethlehem (Palestine); Site of Human Evolution at Mount Carmel: The Nahal Me’arot/Wadi el-Mughara Caves (Israel), Rock Islands Southern Lagoon (Palau), and The Cultural Landscape of Bali: the Subak System as a Manifestation of the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy (Indonesia), Rabat, modern capital and historic City: a shared heritage (Morocco). Inscriptions are expected to continue today and tomorrow.
